To help inform and grow various aspects of our business, we consult with a number of respected and accomplished professionals from diverse fields and industries. Members of our advisory board include:

E. Dale Hartley, ME

Mr. Hartley is the inventor and a co-founder of SHURflo, the world leader in the marine and RV water pump market. Mr. Hartley holds 70 patents relating to fluid dynamics. In 1983, he took the first step toward successful commercialization of his concepts when he founded SHURflo, which now manufactures more than one million electric water pumps and motors each year. Mr. Hartley holds B.S. in mechanical engineering from UCLA.

James T. Spann, ME

Mr. Spann is vice president of business development for GridPoint, a provider of intelligent energy management (IEM) appliances. He is responsible for corporate growth, including day-to-day leadership of GridPoint’s sales force. Before joining GridPoint, Mr. Spann was vice president and general manager for Teleflex Energy Systems, a leading manufacturer of heaters and auxiliary power units, where he led sales, marketing, engineering and customer service. Prior to Teleflex, Mr. Spann led operations at Xantrex Technologies, the industry leader in stationary and mobile power management products. Prior to Xantrex, Mr. Spann held several executive positions at the Square D Company, a market-leading brand of electrical distribution and industrial control products, systems and services. He served as president of Square D Mexico, vice president of operations of Square D Canada, and general manager and plant manager for the power instrument and transformer groups. Mr. Spann holds a B.S. in business management and industrial engineering from LaSalle University and has attended the Kellogg Executive Program at Northwestern University.

Robert R. Miller, DDS

Dr. Miller is an investor in Mythos and a senior professor the University of Minnesota. After graduating from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1961, Dr. Miller spent two years serving as a captain in the U.S. Air Force dental program. In 1963, he returned to Minnesota and opened a private family dentistry practice, which remains in operation. Dr. Miller returned to his alma mater — as a member of the faculty — in 1997, accepting a position as a part-time clinical professor in the dental school. Since 2004, Dr. Miller has served as the director of the school’s Immediate Care Clinic.
